Our Team.

Douglas practices primarily in the areas of employment, consumer law, and civil litigation and is a practitioner director at Kyard Business Law.

His advice gives technically accurate information with clarity focused on your meaningful decisions. As an advocate, Douglas narrows disputes and seeks pragmatic alternatives to costly litigation, but is meticulous and creative when a contest is necessary.

Outside the office Doug is an avid reader and cinephile and recommends that everyone get a Boston Terrier like his dog Bowie.

Austin is a lawyer and commercial litigator, with a particular focus on consumer law and corporate regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Kyard Business Law, he spent three years as a legal researcher at a food regulatory consultancy, where he trained food scientists in the Australian Consumer Law.

Outside his work, Austin loves to read, write and volunteer. He is active in his church and has an interest in environmentalism and public health. As an avid MMA fan, Austin also trains in martial arts and believes the lessons learned in combat translate directly into the courtroom.

Luke joined Kyard Business Law in February 2025 in a temporary position, before quickly cementing himself as an indispensable member of the team.  His main focus is debt collection and lease advice for businesses, but he is also involved in archiving and record maintenance. In his spare time, he enjoys fantasy novels.

Donald has been with the firm since 2020 and handles the administration of the office. He spends his free time pursuing his many creative hobbies, reading, watching movies and hanging out with his cavoodle, Lucy.

Tony is an accredited commercial law specialist and has a Master of Laws. He was admitted to practise as a lawyer in 1986 and founded Kyard Business Law in 2007. Tony’s interests include his children and grandchildren, a pampered whippet, “MTG”, bushwalking and being involved in his Church.
